Overview
This component serves as a representative example of our precision machining capabilities, designed for automated liquid handling workstations and laboratory platforms. We are not a supplier of off-the-shelf products, but a custom machining service provider. You supply the drawings or samples, and we handle the entire process—from material sourcing and process design to inspection and basic surface finishing—delivering positioning inserts with exceptional accuracy, consistency, and a professional appearance.
Machining Capability Details
| Dimension | Details | ||||||||
| Material | Default 6061-T6 aluminum alloy for excellent machinability and strength. Available options include 7075, 2A12, 5052 aluminum, 304/316L stainless steel, H62 brass, TC4 titanium, etc. Each batch comes with mill certificates; material certifications can be provided upon request. | ||||||||
| Inspection Equipment | Equipped with a Zeiss CMM (accuracy 1.5μm+L/350), Renishaw comparator, Mitutoyo roughness tester, and digital hardness testers. All critical dimensions are either 100% inspected or rigorously sampled using precision instruments to ensure full traceability. | ||||||||
| Machining Process | High-precision CNC milling, integrally formed. The machining center positioning accuracy reaches ±0.005mm. Custom ball-end mills are used for the hemispherical U-bottom recesses to guarantee surface contour. Vibratory deburring is applied afterwards for smooth, uniform edges. Custom tooling for special well-bottom shapes (V-bottom, flat) is supported. | ||||||||
| Dimensional Accuracy | Overall dimensional tolerance stably held within ±0.05mm; 96-well array pitch error ≤ ±0.03mm; locating tab slot width tolerance ±0.02mm. Tighter tolerances can be achieved as per drawing, with full dimensional reports provided. | ||||||||
| Appearance | We provide mechanical surface finishing such as grinding and brushing (sanding/lapping and hairline finish). Surfaces are flat with a uniform texture, free from machining marks and burrs, delivering a refined matte or brushed appearance. For special treatments like anodizing or hard anodizing, customers may perform these themselves, or we can arrange outsourced processing (lead time and cost to be evaluated separately). | ||||||||
| Quality Consistency | Strict first-article full inspection + in-process scheduled sampling + last-article comparison protocol, with SPC applied to critical dimensions. A dimensional inspection report is shipped with every batch. Lot traceability is maintained, linking back to material heat numbers and production dates. | ||||||||
| Lead Time | Samples: 5–7 business days; small batches (≤50 pcs): 7–10 business days; larger quantities or complex finishing requirements will be evaluated separately. Expedited services are available. | ||||||||
Customization Services
We specialize in machining all types of array-based metal bases, adapter plates, and shaped inserts from your drawings or physical samples—including non-standard arrays (e.g., 4×8, 5×10, 6×12), non-standard outlines, and different well-bottom shapes (V-bottom, flat). From CAM programming and precision machining to inspection and surface finishing, we offer a one-stop custom manufacturing service.
Our standard surface finish is grinding or brushing; if alternative treatments are required, please specify when inquiring so we can assess feasibility.
To ensure perfect compatibility, please supply detailed drawings or samples prior to ordering, specifying well-bottom shape, locating tab dimensions, and appearance requirements.
